I just found some news that may have a huge impact on my laptop buying problem. I didn't even think of this, but it is completely understandable: It is fully possible to run Mac OSX on a PC now. The introduction of the Mactel doesn't just make it possible to have Macs as dual boot systems, you can make a PC dual boot with OSX as well. That information coupled with the fact that super sweet laptops are super cheap in Japan pretty well seals the deal for me, I think.

I think the plan is to buy a laptop in January in Japan. I think that will be a good time. The Vista rollover should be swinging, the Core 2 Duo should be widely available, and there should be more universal software for Mactel systems.
